NBC’s drama series Found has added a new member to its season two cast, Dionne Gipson (NCIS, Criminal Minds). According to Deadline, Gipson’s character is pinned to be close to Gabi Mosely, the main character and public relations specialist, portrayed by Shanola Hampton (Shameless, You Again).
Found comes from All American showrunner Nkechi Okoro Carroll (All American: Homecoming, Rosewood) and chronicles Gabi and her crisis management team who are committed to finding missing people, most notably marginalized groups. The plot thickens as it is revealed that Gabi was once missing and harbors a dark secret: she found her kidnapper, named Sir, whom Mark-Paul Gosselaar (Saved by the Bell, Franklin & Bash) portrays. After this revelation, Gabi decides to take advantage of his corrupt skills to solve the team’s cases.
Deadline notes that the focus of this show comes from the real-life phenomena of missing people reported in the U.S. Specifically, Deadline cites that, every year, more than 600,000 people are reported missing, and over half of those individuals are people of color.
The cast also includes Karan Oberoi (Counterpart, Mapplethorpe), Brett Dalton (Lost in Florence, Besides Still Waters), Arlen Escarpeta (The Oath, Whitney), Kelli Williams (Lie to Me, The Fosters) and Gabrielle Walsh (9-1-1, Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones).
Found is executively produced by Carroll with Lindsay Dunn (From, Deadly Class), Sonay Hoffman (American Crime, Daredevil), Leigh London Redman (Gotham Knights, The Girls on the Bus), Greg Berlanti (Love, Simon, The Flash) and Sarah Schechter (Free Guy, The Flash). Rock My Soul Productions and Berlanti Productions produce Found alongside Universal Television, a subset of Universal Studio Group and Warner Bros. Television.
As per Deadline, Gipson started her career as an actress in the hit musical Dreamgirls at Atlanta’s 14th St. Playhouse. She then appeared in several other films, TV series, plays and musicals. Her TV credits include guest starring in The Wilds, The Young and the Restless, Criminal Minds and Greenleaf.
Gipson is represented by McDonald/Selznick Associates and Shelter Entertainment Group.
