NBC‘s new Hitchcockian thriller, Suspicion, now has leading actor, Derek Luke. He will play the lead role of Danny Goodman. Luke was most recently in Netflix’s 13 Reasons Why. He has also played a character in Denzel Washington’s Antwone Fisher, where he won the Independent Spirit Award. He has also played in the film Captain America: The First Avenger. His recurring roles have been in Empire, Rogue, and The Americans. Luke’s character in Suspicion will be a father that would do anything to protect his family.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Luke’s character is, “a reluctant hero who doesn’t know it yet.” Danny is father, and he is also a widower. As he is trying to make a new life with his fiancee and his daughter, he takes a loan from his neighbor and has to become an FBI informant. Working along side Luke as an FBI agent will be actress Paula Newsome. Her character is in charge of working with Danny.
Suspicion is being written and created by Jessica Goldberg, and the series is based on New York Times bestselling author Joseph Finder.
