The 40th annual Daytime Emmy Awards were presented Sunday evening in Beverly Hills, recognizing achievements in network and syndicated programming. The event was hosted by Sam Champion, AJ Hammer and Robin Meade.
Top winners included the Bold and the Beautiful, which took home nine Emmys out of 15 nominations and the Young and the Restless, which won seven awards out of 23 nominations. A few ties occurred throughout the ceremony, as well, including both the “Outstanding Culinary Program” and “Supporting Actor in a Drama Series” categories.
One of the night’s biggest surprises was the winner of “Outstanding Daytime Drama”, when NBC’s Days of Our Lives took home the biggest award of the night for the first time since 1975.
