One of the newest platforms to enter the world of streaming, NBC’s Peacock, has ordered a limited spinoff series of Days of our Lives, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The series, entitled Days of our Lives: Beyond Salem is expected to spotlight past and present characters from the daytime soap opera who are involved in a mystery involving stolen jewels that, if found in the wrong hands, could have negative repercussions towards their fictional town of Salem.
The cast will include current stars Deidre Hall (Our House), Drake Hogestyn (Christmas Tree Lane), Jackée Harry (227), James Reynolds (Time Express), Victoria Konefal (The Wrong Crush), Robert Scott Wilson (Stalked By A Reality Star), Billy Flynn (Dead on Arrival), Lamon Archy (Can’t Buy My Love), and Sal Stowers (Tomboy). Lisa Rinna (The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills) will reprise her role as ISA agent Billie Reed.
The five-part series will center around John and Marlena, played by Hogestyn and Hall, as they travel to Zurich on vacation; Ben and Ciara, played by Wilson and Konefal, who take a romantic getaway to New Orleans; Chad, played by Flynn, as he visits friends in Phoenix; and Abe, Paulina, Lani, and Eli, played by Reynolds, Harry, Stowers, and Archey, who are vacationing in Miami. Each character becomes embroiled in a mystery regarding stolen jewels that must be found.
Days of our Lives: Beyond Salem is the franchise’s first original limited series. Days of our Lives was recently renewed through the 2022-2023 season, which will take the soap opera through its 58th season.
