‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Season Two Already Planned

According to ScreenRant, Daredevil: Born Again season two is possibly in the works based on teased information from cast member Vincent D’Onofrio (Full Metal Jacket). The Disney+ revival of Netflix’s Daredevil features the former leads reprising their roles in the new upcoming 18-episode series, which is in production and is not expected to premiere until 2024. Although the series isn’t scheduled to air until the upcoming year it was a surprise to many that D’Onofrio teased there is an additional season possibly in the works.

During an interview with Newsweek D’Onofrio said, ”We’ve only just started shooting. I think we’re couple weeks in, and the show is going to be very, very different than the Netflix show, and it’s so exciting because what we’re doing is quite something. I think it’s something that people are not going to expect. But, always with these Marvel old comic stories that are being revisited and reinvented by us actors, and the writers, the main thing is to answer the fans.’’

D’Onofrio continued, ”To give them what they want but try to be original in some way at the same time, and so that’s what we’re doing on the show. It’s definitely an original way to look at this, and it’s really deep, really emotional.’’

The actor finally teased the plans for a second season of  Daredevil: Born Again when he said, ‘’And, by the second season, there are gigantic, gigantic payoffs in the first season, too, but I can’t say much about that but the fans are gonna really get what they want. It’s really quite cool to be doing it.”

The Daredevil franchise is based on a Marvel Comics series that debuted in 1964. The series follows Matt Murdock, a blind man who by day, works as a lawyer and by night, fights crime as the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen. The upcoming series Daredevil: Born Again is a revival version of the Netflix adaption. The new series cast includes D’Onofrio as well as Charlie Cox (The Theory of Everything), Margarita Levieva (The Deuce), Sandrine Holt (Better Call Saul), Micheal Gandolfini (The Offer), and Nikki M. James (Severance).

MCU fans can look forward to Daredevil: Born Again premiering on Disney+ in 2024.
