‘Daredevil’ Adds Wilson Bethel for Season 3

Hart of Dixie alum Wilson Bethel will join the cast of Netflix’s Daredevil in Season 3. Variety reports that Bethel is set to portray an FBI agent who will play a critical role in the conflict between Wilson Fisk/Kingpin and Matt Murdock/Daredevil.

Even though the exact character of Bethel is unknown, a character description for an FBI agent in the third season of Daredevil was leaked several months ago. The leaked information led some to assume that the Marvel character Sin-Eater might appear in the series. The character of Sin-Eater was a former S.H.I.E.L.D. agent who became an NYPD officer named Stanley Carter. After an experimental drug made him insane, Carter decided to punish those he viewed as sinful. Sin-Eater was an antagonist in the Daredevil and Spider-Man comics.

Bethel is best known for his role as Wade Kinsella on the CW’s Hart of Dixie. He also appeared in The Young and the RestlessGeneration KillHow to Get Away with MurderHarley and the Davidsons, and Bates Motel. Bethel will be joining returning cast members Charlie Cox (Matt Murdock/Daredevil), Deborah Ann Woll (Karen Page), Vincent D’Onofrio (Wilson Fisk/Kingpin), and Elden Henson (Foggy Nelson).

Erik Oleson serves as the showrunner of Season 3 of the Netflix series as well as executive producer alongside Jim Chory, Jeph Loeb, and Drew Goddard. Marvel’s Daredevil is produced by Marvel Television in association with ABC Studios for Netflix.

Season 3 of Daredevil is set to begin shooting this year and will premiere on Netflix in 2018.
