Tuesday brought great news for those missing the riches-to-rags Rose family, especially as the one year anniversary of Schitt’s Creek’s final send-off draws near. Entertainment Weekly exclusively broke the news that the Canadian father-son duo behind the sitcom, Dan Levy (Happiest Season) and Eugene Levy (American Pie, Best in Show), would be co-authoring Best Wishes, Warmest Regards: The Story of Schitt’s Creek, a compendium fit for any fan’s coffee-table.
In addition to breaking the story, Entertainment Weekly provided first glimpse into some pages of the upcoming book, including a map of Schitt’s Creek and a “complete, illustrated catalogs” of both Moira’s wigs and David’s knits. “The pages will also highlight major moments from the six-season show,” Entertainment Weekly reports that this includes both on and off-screen lore from the beloved series.
Finally able to share the news with fans on Twitter, the younger Levy revealed that he and his father ” spent the better part of the last year and half putting this book together.” Levy then described Best Wishes, Warmest Regards: The Story of Schitt’s Creek as “a thoughtful celebration of the time we had” (Twitter).
The Pop TV comedy garnered exponential praise from both fans and critics over the course of its six season run, sweeping last year’s Emmy awards and last week’s Canadian Screen Awards. This newly announced tie-in book’s title shares the name with Schitt’s Creek retrospective documentary “Best Wishes, Warmest Regards,” which followed production on the final season of the series.
Best Wishes, Warmest Regards: The Story of Schitt’s Creek will be published by Black Dog & Leventhal, with pre-orders already available on their website. Entertainment Weekly quoted Running Press and Black Dog & Leventhal publisher Kristin Kiser saying that it was a treat to work on the book and “to get an up-close-and-personal peek into Dan and Eugene Levy’s singular creative vision.”
According to PopSugar, Best Wishes, Warmest Regards: The Story of Schitt’s Creek will be available for fans to get their hands on as early as October 26.
