CW Series ‘Charmed’ Production Halted, Positive COVID-19 Test

CW reboot series Charmed has joined the list of scripted TV series whose production restart has been halted due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, according to DeadlineThe series had previously shut down production last month due to delays in COVID-19 test results for the cast and crew. Production will only be paused for the day due to a positive test from a production member.

Charmed, which films in Vancouver and is slated to air its third season on January 24, follows three sisters, played by Melonie Diaz (Fruitvale Station), Sarah Jeffery (Descendants), and Madeleine Mantock (Casually), as they discover they’re witches following the death of their mother. Throughout the show, they fight unnatural battles for girls their age, including demons and other dark forces. It initially aired in 1998 for 8 seasons.

Alongside Charmed, CBS’ Young Sheldon, the CW’s All American, HBO’s The Gilded Age, National Geographic’s Genius: Aretha, Netflix’s Vikings: Valhalla, NBC’s Chicago Med, ABC’s For the People, and the daytime soap opera Days of our Lives, have halted production for at least a day due to COVID-19.
