Crunchyroll’s SK8 the Infinity is an anime that showcases the sport of skateboarding. It was released in January 2021 and gained huge success with anime lovers. At the moment, it seems like the second season is currently in the works, with plans for a special comeback in the form of an OVA (special episodes of the anime that don’t air on TV, only on DVD), as seen in the recently released poster, Comicbook.com reports.
The announcement was released on Thursday morning by the team behind the creation of SK8 the Infinity. The poster is for the newest OVA, and fans are eager to see what the anime has ready for them. According to Comicbook.com, the visual doesn’t seem to give much information on what will be in the OVA, but the team shared that the OVA will be settled in a timeframe gap between season one and season two.
If anyone is not familiar with the anime series, Comicbook.com provided information on SK8 the Infinity. The anime was an original, and its manga was created after the anime aired. The series is focused on illegal skateboarding and is based in Okinawa. The main lead, Reki, a skater who goes to high school, takes a transfer student named Langa to an illegal skateboarding tournament to show the beauty of that sport. Afterward, they become the top two skaters of their team, but other students also want that spot, so they compete in tournaments.
If anyone is interested in learning more about the sports anime, Comicbook.com has the official synopsis to read below:
“High school students Reki and Langa are hooked on one thing-a dangerous, top secret, no-holds-barred downhill skateboarding race called “S.” When Reki takes Langa, a transfer student, to the mountain where “S” is held, Langa finds himself sucked in. These colorful skaters will take you through a thrilling story of skateboard battles and unlimited possibilities!”
SK8 the Infinity is now streaming on Crunchyroll in the original Japanese language or dubbed in English.
