Critical Role’s horror series, Candela Obscura, is returning for a third season, and it is sure to be just as dark and thrilling as the previous seasons. The horror drama made its debut on Thursday, 25 May 2023 on Twitch, and aired monthly videos. The setting of Candela Obscura, takes place in the city of Newfaire, as the players fight monsters According to Screenrant, the new chapter will once again feature an incredible cast, including Critical Role’s own Liam O’Brien(Tiger&Bunny) and Sam Riegel(Blue Dragon), along with Gina Darling, Ashly Burch, and Noshir Dala. Aabria Iyengar will step into the role of Game Master following the incredible work of Matt Mercer(HunterxHunter) and Spenser Starke.
From the trailer, we can see the cast dressed up as their characters while holding various weapons, which can symbolize them preparing to fight against the forces of evil. The third season of Candela Obscura will focus on the Circle of Tide & Bone, a mysterious organization that is tasked with protecting the Fairelands from magical threats. One of the things that makes Candela Obscura so popular with critics is its dark and atmospheric storytelling. According to Screenrant, Candela Obscura’s Circle of Tide & Bone premieres November 30 at 7 p.m. Pacific on Critical Role’s Twitch and YouTube channels and continues on the last Thursday of each month. Other iconic members of Critical Role will also be in the upcoming season, such as Travis Willingham(Avengers), Marish Ray(UnDeadwood), and Taliesin Jaffe(Explorers).

A second show based on their Mighty Nein campaign is also in development.
