In an unexpected turn of events, The CW’s The Flash has paused its production due to one of its team members contracting COVID-19 according to Deadline. “The asymptomatic diagnosis was confirmed through the rigorous testing protocols implemented by The Flash studio Warner Bros. TV for all of its production employees. Out of an abundance of caution, production on The Flash has been temporarily suspended and contact tracing has been initiated,” as stated by Deadline. Although this unforeseen setback has stalled their production they are going to resume working once they make the proper adjustments for the safety of the cast and crew. “According to sources, the studio is currently evaluating adjustments to the production schedule in order to resume filming without the affected employee and potential close contacts, who are self-isolating,” Deadline stated.
The Flash also experienced a delay in production at the beginning of its filming. “The Flash was among a number of series filming in Vancouver whose start of production was delayed because of a backlog at a local lab processing Covid tests,” according to Deadline. Despite all of these setbacks’, fans can be sure that The Flash will be running back to their screens once these safety adjustments are made and the well-being of the cast and crew is confirmed.
The Flash isn’t the only show experiencing these pauses in production as many others have joined its ranks. Earlier this month NBC’s Chicago fire was halted according to mxdwn.com. Another show to experience the effects of COVID-19 was Netflix’s The Witcher, with total of four crew members contracting the virus, according to mxdwn. These are just two examples of a long list of shows that have experienced setback due to COVID-19.
