According to Variety, the NBC sitcom cast is reuniting for a virtual table read of the season five episode “Cooperative Polygraphy” on May 18. The “bottle episode” took place after the death of Pierce Hawthorne (Chevy Chase) where guest star Walton Goggins gave away Pierce’s gifts to his study friends while mocking them. Released on Sony Pictures TV’s Community YouTube page, the reunion will encourage the audience to support José Andrés’ World Central Kitchen and Frontline Foods charities in an effort to fight COVID-19. After the reading, there will be a Q&A session on Twitter, which fans can participate in by tagging @CommunityTV and using the hashtag #AskCommunity.

The virtual event will gather the original cast composed of Gillian Jacobs (Ibiza), Danny Pudi (The Tiger Hunter), Joel McHale (The Great Indoors), Yvette Nicole Brown (The Odd Couple), Alison Brie (Glow), Jim Rash (Harley Quinn), Ken Jeong (The Hangover) and writer Dan Harmon (Rick and Morty). As a noticeable surprise, the reunion includes actor Donald Glover (The Lion King) and it will be his first participation in a Community event since he left the show. However, Chase (The Earth Day Special), who previously clashed with Harmon and left after season 4, won’t make an appearance in the reading.
Community ran between 2009 and 2015 for six seasons and 110 episodes. The series received a nomination for Favorite New TV Comedy at the 36th People’s Choice Awards and was named Best Comedy Series in 2010 and 2011. Recently, Community made a deal with Netflix and McHale told Variety that a movie could be expected in the next years following the reunion.
