At San Diego Comic-Con, Paramount+ released a clip of the upcoming reboot, Mike Judge’s Beavis and Butt-Head. The eight-minute clip finds Beavis, voiced by Emmy-winning Mike Judge (King of the Hill), in entanglement with a talking dumpster fire. The clip also sees Beavis and Butt-Head reacting to a real TikTok on making tattoo ink in prison.
The upcoming revival received a 2-season order at Comedy Central in 2020 but was later shifted to Paramount+ in February 2022, per Deadline. Judge will serve as executive producer, creator, writer, and star of both leads on the series.
On June 23rd, Paramount+ released Beavis and Butt-Head Do the Universe, a movie following Beavis and Butt-Head’s adventures in space camp. Creatives at Paramount+ lovingly described the film as “perhaps the dumbest space movie ever made.” Judge executive produced the film alongside Antonio Canobbio (Q-Force), (Awkwafina Is Nora From Queens), David Javerbaum (Disjointed), Ben Kalina (Big Mouth), Lewis Morton (Veep), (Final Space), (Harriet the Spy), Shannon Barrett Prynoski (Fairfax), and Michael Rotenberg (Insecure). The Television Academy has nominated all executive producers on the film for various projects.
Beavis and Butt-Head Do the Universe also featured the voices of Gary Cole (The Good Fight), Academy Award winner Nat Faxon (Loot), Chi McBride (How We Roll), Andrea Savage (Veep), Carlos Alazraqui (Reno 911!), and Susan Bennett (Bricki and Rocky), among others. Paramount+ has not yet announced the voice cast for the upcoming revival series.
Mike Judge’s Beavis and Butt-Head will premiere on Paramount+ on August 4th.
