In-your-face comedienne Amy Schumer’s first season of Inside Amy Schumer has proven to be quite successful, as Comedy Central has given the thumbs up for a second season to air in 2014.
Schumer tweeted ,”Hey! #InsideAmy Schumer got picked up for Season 2! Thanks @ComedyCentral.” CBS News compares her series to that of Louie on FX, having similar stand-up routines and scripted vignettes.
Schumer may be most recognized from the reality show Last Comic Standing which aired on NBC, where she placed fourth during the show’s fifth season. She also gave a memorable performance at Charlie Sheen’s roast on Comedy Central in 2011.
When Schumer was first given her series on Comedy Central, CBS News sat down for an interview with her, where they discussed the intimidation of her new success. Of being recognizable, she said, “It’s something to adjust to, and lately it’s been kind of intense. I dress like s**t when I just walk around… So it’s just added pressure being on TV.”
Although the humor she uses can often be crude and inappropriate, Schumer told CBS News, “I don’t like the idea of hurting anyone’s feelings. I make myself the butt of the joke just as much as anybody else, if not more. But hopefully it’s a victimless show. This show it is dealing with subject matter that may not be for everyone. There’s a reason it’s airing after 10 P.M.”
Inside Amy Schumer airs on Comedy Central on Tuesdays at 10:30 P.M. EST.
