Comedy Central is getting its very own Donald Trump.
Deadline reports that the comedy network will be debuting The President Show, a weekly series hosted by President Trump and Vice President Mike Pence. Trump will be played by series creator Anthony Atamanuik, and he will be joined by Emmy-winner Peter Grosz (Veep, The Colbert Report) as Pence.
The President Show will see Trump, joined by Pence, hosting a topical late-night show so that he can brush past the media and speak directly to the American people. The series will filter through typical late-night segments through a Trump lens. The show is set to premiere Thursday, April 27th at 11:30 pm.
“Laughing at the President is a proud American tradition and we hope not to disappoint anyone in that department,” said Atamanuik. “But our political system is too broken for us to be content joking about one man, even though he is a disastrous silly little toddler boy. Mostly I’d just like to thank Comedy Central for giving us this platform to speak with truth to power and if we’re lucky, end up in prison!”
I'm very excited to be making the @PresidentShow & I hope you will tune in. #classy

“When I was first approached about this show I thought it would be about me, but on further thought, this makes way more sense,” said Comedy Central president Kent Alterman.
Atamanuik has been making a name for himself at improv theater the Upright Citizens Brigade for the last decade, but his Trump has finally allowed him to break out. He has appeared as Trump for a 40-city, nationwide “Trump vs. Bernie” tour with James Adomian, took over a week of @Midnight with Chris Hardwick as Trump, and has made stops as Trump on The Howard Stern Show, The View, CNN Newsroom and Improv4humans.
The President Show comes from Clone Wolf Productions and 3 Arts Entertainment. The series is executive produced by Atamanuik, Grosz, Adam Pally, Jason Ross, Olivia Gerke, Josh Lieberman and Greg Walter.
