Comedian Joan Rivers Dies at 81

Everyone’s favorite blunt, tart-tongued talk show host has died. The 81-year-old Joan Rivers, known for being one of the most memorable woman comedian in history, was rushed to the hospital back on the 28th of August, only to be placed on life support. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Rivers was rushed into surgery for her vocal cords and then slipped in cardiac and respiratory arrest.

Rivers passed away at the 1 o’clock at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York. Although her death is tragic, she was surrounded by those she loved and those who knew the comedian as the true matriarch she was. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Melissa Rivers, Joan’s daughter, left the press with this: “My mother’s greatest joy in life was to make people laugh. Although that is difficult to do right now, I know her final wish would be that we return to laughing soon”.
