Colman Domingo To Star In Netflix Thriller Limited Series ‘The Headlands House’

Colman Domingo (Lincoln, Selma, Fear the Walking Dead) is set to star in Netflix’s upcoming thriller limited series The Headlands House. According to Deadline, the project landed at the streaming platform for development following a competitive bidding situation.

Written by Cameron B. Dupont (Yellowjackets, Designated Survivor, Coventry), the series follows a gay couple whose marriage begins to unravel after they move into their dream home. The couple soon discovers that the property’s previous residents were brutally murdered and that their own lives may now be in danger.

Domingo will executive produce the series alongside Raúl Domingo (Sing Sing, New Moon, You Are Here) through their Edith Productions banner. Dupont will also serve as an executive producer alongside Patrick Moran (Harrow, The Rainmaker, Citadel) through PKM Productions. AMC Studios is behind the project.

The Headlands House will mark Domingo’s third starring television project for Netflix. He previously led the 2024 limited series The Madness and stars in the comedy The Four Seasons alongside Tina Fey (30 Rock, Mean Girls, Date Night) and Will Forte (That’s My Boy, The Last Man on Earth, Nebraska), which has earned him two Emmy nominations across its first two seasons.

Domingo has also collaborated with Netflix on several films, including Rustin, which earned him an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor, and Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom. He is also set to appear in the upcoming Netflix film An Innocent Girl starring Lena Headey (300, Game of Thrones, The Abandons) and James Marsden (Hairspray, Enchanted, 27 Dresses).

The project continues Domingo’s relationship with AMC, where he starred as Victor Strand in Fear the Walking Dead for the show’s eight-season run from 2015 to 2023. Edith Productions has a first-look deal with AMC, which helped lead to AMC Studios’ involvement in The Headlands House

Founded by Domingo and Raúl Domingo, Edith Productions has previously been involved with projects including Sing Sing, It’s What’s Inside, Dead Man’s Wire, New Moon, North Star and Bottomless Brunch at Colman’s

The Headlands House is currently in development at Netflix. Additional casting details and a potential release date have not yet been announced.
