Netflix has officially renewed The Four Seasons for a third season. According to Deadline, the comedy series created by Tina Fey (Mean Girls, 30 Rock, Saturday Night Live), Lang Fisher (The Mindy Project, Never Have I Ever, Brooklyn Nine-Nine), and Tracey Wigfield (30 Rock, The Mindy Project, Great News) will return with another eight-episode season.
Like the previous two installments, season three will consist of four two-episode story arcs set across spring, summer, fall, and winter. Each arc will continue to follow a group of longtime friends as they reunite for vacations and major life events throughout the year.
The series stars Fey, Will Forte (MacGruber, The Last Man on Earth, That’s My Boy), Kerri Kenney-Silver (Reno 911!, The State, Wanderlust), Marco Calvani (High Tide, A Better Half, The View from Up Here), Erika Henningsen (Hazbin Hotel, Girls5eva, Harlem), and Colman Domingo (Lincoln, Fear the Walking Dead, Selma). Henningsen, whose character Ginny spent much of season two away from the group while raising the child of Nick, previously portrayed by Steve Carell (The Office, Despicable Me, Rooster), is expected to return as a series regular for the upcoming season.
Season three may also feature a larger role for David Tennant (Doctor Who, Broadchurch, Jessica Jones), who made a surprise appearance during the season two finale as Gianpiero, a neighbor and potential love interest for Anne, played by Kenney-Silver. While no formal deal has been announced, co-creator Wigfield has previously teased additional stories involving the character.
Based on Alan Alda’s (M*A*S*H, Marriage Story, Crimes and Misdemeanors) 1981 film of the same name, The Four Seasons follows a close-knit group of friends as they navigate relationships, personal challenges, and major life changes while maintaining their tradition of seasonal getaways. Alda has remained involved with the adaptation and has appeared in both seasons.
The comedy has remained a strong performer for Netflix since its debut in 2025. While season two opened to lower viewership than the first season, the series has continued to receive positive reviews from critics and audiences. The second season has earned a higher Rotten Tomatoes score than the previous season.
Produced by Universal Television, The Four Seasons is executive produced by Fey, Fisher, Wigfield, David Miner (30 Rock, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, The Good Place), Eric Gurian (30 Rock, Sisters, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt), and Jeff Richmond (30 Rock, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Mean Girls).
Season three of The Four Seasons is expected to premiere on Netflix in 2027.
