Claire Danes (Homeland) will be boarding FX’s upcoming limited series, which is based on the novel by Taffy Brodesser-Akner (Long Island Compromise), Fleishman Is In Trouble, according to The Hollywood Reporter. She will star opposite Jesse Eisenberg (The Social Network) and Lizzy Caplan (Masters of Sex).
Fleishman is in Trouble follows a marriage gone wrong, with Eisenberg playing surgeon Toby Fleishman, and Danes playing his ex-wife. Caplan will be playing the novel’s narrator and Toby’s longtime best friend. Streaming on Hulu, the series will center around a recently-separated Toby as he re-enters the world of dating online and experiences more success than ever. However, a mystery unravels when his ex-wife disappears and he’s left with no clues leading to finding her.
Danes recently filmed in the upcoming series for Apple TV+ in 2020, The Essex Serpant, in which she replaced Kiera Knightley (Pride and Prejudice). The project was her first TV role since the conclusion of Homeland in early 2020.
