Lorre and Pennette currently work as collaborators on CBS’s ongoing successful comedy, Mom, while also involving themselves in separate projects. Pennette was an executive producer and one of the showrunners for ABC’s successful series, Ugly Betty. Lorre, for the past three decades, has created, written, and directed various CBS series such as Two and a Half Men, The Big Bang Theory, Mike & Molly, and Young Sheldon, additionally winning a Golden Globe award for Netflix’s The Kominsky Method in 2019.
Middleditch’s addition to the cast as the series’ main character re-introduces him as the face for another comedy series in front of a new network audience.
