Kevin Abbott (Last Man Standing, The Cool Kids) and Julie Abbott are the creators of Happy’s Place. The series stars Reba McEntire (Young Sheldon, Big Sky), who plays Bobbie and inherits her father’s tavern.
After inheriting the tavern, Bobbie discovers a new business partner and half-sister, Isabelle, that she never knew existed, according to Deadline. According to Deadline, season two will reveal a long-hidden secret that will test loyalties at Happy’s. Bobbie must remind others that family is not necessarily the one you are born into, but those who stand by you through tough times.
Deadline mentions that Lloyd will play the character, Clive, who returns to Happy’s to find his missing phone. Kane will play Clive’s wife, Theresa, a woman with an eye for justice and her husband. Oteri will portray Monica, a by-the-book health inspector who just got appointed to Happuy’s Place.
Both guest stars, Lloyd and Kane, worked together on the show Taxi, which aired for five seasons on ABC, then on NBC, from 1978 to 1983, via Deadline. Lloyd portrayed Jim Ignatowski, while Kane portrayed Latka’s wife, Simka Graves. Taxi also starred Judd Hirsch (Independence Day, Stay Forte), Danny DeVito (Twins, Batman Returns), Jeff Conway (Dark Games, Ladron), and Marilu Henner (L.A. Story, Noises Off). Taxi, like Happy Place, also followed the lives of employees in a company.
