Colin Donnell (Arrow, The Affair) will join the cast of Chicago Med as a new series regular.
It has been confirmed that Donnell will join Chicago Med, a Chicago Fire spinoff, as a regular character. It is unclear what Donnell’s character will be, but he is joining cast series regulars Oliver Platt, S. Epatha Merkerson, Laurie Holden, Nick Gehlfuss and Yaya DaCosta.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the drama is an emotional roller coaster within the daily chaos of a hospital. The show follows the team of doctors who hold everything together. The show reveals the heart-pounding events of working in an emergency room as well as dealing with personal relationships.
Donnell most recently appeared in an NBC pilot titled Love Is a Four Letter Word.
Sophia Bush, Jesse Lee Soffer and Patrick John Flueger were all chosen from NBC’s Hatfields & McCoys pilot to join Chicago Med. After appearing in a drama pilot called Tin Man, Kara Killmer joined the cast of Chicago Fire as a new paramedic.
Donnell was a series regular on Arrow, but in the first season finale he was killed off. His most reoccurring role is on The Affair.
Universal TV and Dick Wolf’s Wolf Films will produce Chicago Med. Chicago Med is supposed to premiere sometime midseason on NBC.
