Character Teaser From ‘Star Wars: Acolyte’ Star At FanExpo Has Reignited The Series

According to Comicbook, the sci-fi series Star Wars: Acolyte, which has been met with mixed reviews and was canceled after one season, was reignited by a talk at FanExpo San Francisco with Manny Jacinto (The Good Place), who had a pivotal role in the series. The series was one of the more chaotic projects within the franchise, as the plot would go off the rails in some episodes, and the pacing was too fast. The series ended with Osha, played by Amandla Stenberg (The Darkest Minds), agreeing to go with Qimir; in exchange, he wipes Mae’s mind clean.

According to Comicbook, Jacinto answered a fan question at the FanExpo about whether, if it had continued, the series would have shown more of Darth Plagueis, who was the master of Jacinto’s character. The character made a small cameo in the eighth episode, where he secretly observes Osha and Qimir, Jacinto’s character, in a cave. His name was also mentioned by Palpatine, played by Ian McDiarmid (Sleepy Hollow) in Revenge of the Sith, and a second season could have helped bridge the gap.

According to Comicbook, Jacinto stated in the interview at the FanExpo panel hosted by Collider, “There was definitely going to be more of Plagueis in the second, or if not, the third seasons of the show, but I just can’t say, because, you know, we could come back. I don’t want to spoil anything, or give anybody any false hope, but I would just say there was a lot more to explore, for sure.”

Details on the appearance of Darth Plagueis or the confirmation of a second season are still a mystery. Still, whether the news will become a reality, the potential for a deeper exploration into the franchise has excited viewers worldwide. While fans await further news on the possibility of a second season, the entire first season of Star Wars: The Acolyte is available to stream on Disney+.
