

According to Variety, Glen Powell’s (Hit Man, Hidden Figures) Chad Powers, a Football comedy series, has a September release date on Hulu. The series will air on the streamer on September 30 and will follow Russ Holliday, a bad-boy quarterback who goes undercover as Chad Powers to restart his career.
The official logline for the series is as follows: “When bad behavior nukes hotshot QB Russ Holliday’s college career, he disguises himself and walks onto a struggling Southern football team as the talented, affable Chad Powers.”
Joining Powell on the series is Toby Huss(King of the Hill, Halt and Catch Fire) as Mike Holiday, Steve Zahn (Silo, The Righteous Gemstones) as Jake Hudson, Clayne Crawford (Lethal Weapon, The Perfect Host) as Coach Dobbs, Colton Ryan (Poker Face, The Girl from Plainville) as Gerry, Perry Mattfeld (In the Dark, Shameless) as Ricky, Xavier Mills (Forever, Civil War) as Nishan, Wynn Everett (Sweet Magnolias, Teenage Bounty Hunters) as Tricia, Frankie A. Rodriguez (Will & Grace, Modern Family) as Danny, Quentin Plair (Roswell, New Mexico, Welcome to Chippendales) as Coach Byrd, Keese Wilson (Daisy Winters) as Rod and many others.
As per Variety, the series is co-created by executive producers Powell and Michael Waldron (Rick and Morty, Loki) and is based on a 2022 viral comedy sketch from Super Bowl-winning quarterback Eli Manning (Capital One College Bowl). In the sketch, Peyton Manning (Starring 5, Receiver) is seen going undercover as a walk-on for Penn State University’s football tryouts.
The Mannings serve as executive producers on the series along with Jamie Horowitz (Full Court Press), Ben Brown (Ghost in the Shell) and ESPN. Waldron and Adam Fasullo (The Haunting of Hill House) are executive producing for Anomaly Pictures. Luvh Rakhe (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, The Cool Kids) will executive produce and Tony Yacenda (American Vandal, Dave) will serve as director and executive producer.
