According to TVLine, the CBS series Young Sheldon has wrapped up production on their final season. The long-running series, which is a sequel to The Big Bang Theory, is finally saying goodbye. The cast members of the series have gone to social media to share their farewell and final times on set.
Alex Reid (Malcolm in the Middle) who directed many episodes of the series, including this final season, took to Instagram and said, “Today was a wrap on the final season of Young Sheldon. I can’t express how much my time on this show has meant to me. To watch these actors evolve through the years felt like watching my own family grow and change. Right now I have no words but in the coming days I’ll post some of my photos from the 36 episodes I was fortunate enough to direct. This is from this afternoon, before we shot our last scene.”
Iain Armitage (Big Little Lies) who plays Sheldon Cooper shared a couple of posts on Instagram and in one he says, “This is eight yr old me getting ready to film the very first scene I did as Young Sheldon. @melissapeterman recently asked what I would go back and tell my younger self. Maybe I wouldn’t tell him anything and I would just let life unfold as it does, but I think he’d be so surprised and happy to see where we are now. I sure am. I don’t think this kid could have anticipated what it would feel like to film our final scene all these years later. Thank you, amazing crew, past and present, and those who have been there the whole time. I love you all so much!”
Young Sheldon started its journey in 2017 as a prequal series following the young life of Sheldon Cooper from The Big Bang Theory. The coming-of-age sitcom sees Sheldon grow up in east Texas with his family. Being much different and much smarter than everyone else, Sheldon is met with many difficulties as well as accomplishments.
TVLine reports the final episode of the final season will premiere on May 16th. The series is currently airing new episodes weekly on Thursday’s until then.
