

According to TVLine, CBS has revealed a new trailer for the second season of Matlock. The trailer for the second season showcases the events that happened in the first season, as the character of Matty infiltrated the Jacobson Moore law firm, looking to prove they covered up evidence about opioid deaths. Among these deaths is Matty’s daughter while looking for evidence, she discovers that Julian hid a damning document. Though Olympia says it was Senior’s call, Matty is ready to go to the press. Her husband warns her, though: “When we send our research to the Times, you know your friendship is over, right?”

As per TVLine, while Julian stresses the importance of shredding documents that could contain evidence, Matty claims she has a “highly detailed, mastermind-caliber” plan to expose the truth. This pins Olympia against her as she is trying to protect Julian: “I’m not implicating the father of my children.” Matty tells Olympia that when she goes public, Senior “will feed you and Julian to the wolves.” But Olympia threatens to paint her as “a crazy old lady with no evidence”
According to TVLine, Matlock follows Madeline ‘Matty’ Matlock played by Bates, a brilliant septuagenarian who achieved success in her younger years and decides to rejoin the workforce at a prestigious law firm where she uses her unassuming demeanor and wily tactics to win cases.

According to TVLine, Matlock is available to stream on Hulu and the second season will premiere on CBS on Sunday, Oct. 12.
