Dorothy and Toto are not in Kansas anymore—they are everywhere!
Late last month, SyFy announced plans for a futuristic miniseries titled Warriors of Oz; now, CBS is developing a medical drama based on L. Frank Baum’s The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
Inspired by the characters and themes of the classic tale, Dorothy will take place in New York City. Carl Beverly and Susan Timberman will executive produce the series with Emily Fox, who is also slated to write the script. As part of the team behind Elementary, Beverly and Timberman have found past success in transporting a well-known story into an unexpected setting.
Deadline first reported news of the series, though there has been no word yet on when production will begin.
