CBS gets third straight weekly sweep across viewers, adults 18-49 and adults 25-54.
The network won the week by +3.5 million viewers and +31% in adults 18-49 over the closest competitor. They won key demographics with 14 of the top 20 programs in viewers and 11 of the top 20 with adults 18-49, according to Nielsen for the week ending April 6.
CBS had 10.08 million viewers, ABC had 6.39 million viewers, NBC had 5.72 million and Fox had 3.99 million viewers. In key demographics CBS received a 2.1/06 rating, ABC received a 1.6/05, NBC received a 1.5/04 and fox received a 1.2/04 rating.
Four of the top broadcasts in viewers last week came from CBS, seven of the top ten and 14 of the top 20. The top two shows include How I Met Your Mother, which just last week aired its series finale, and The Big Bang Theory. The How I Met Your Mother series finale was first in adults 25-54 (5.5/14), adults 18-49 (5.5/16) and adults 18-34 (5.9/20). These were the best ratings for the series during its run. The Big Bang Theory was first in viewers and key demographics for adults 25-54 and 18-49. These numbers are on par with the last first-run episode from March 13 and they added +340,000 viewers.
Criminal Minds beat American Idol in their hour for the first time ever in both adults 25-54 and adults 18-49. The series was up 6% in adults 25-54 and up 18% with adults 18-49. They also rose in viewership with +330,000 viewers an increase of 3%. The Millers was also first in viewers, key demos and was up since their last first-run episode on March 13. The Academy of Country Music (ACM) Awards was first in viewers, adults 25-54 and adults 18-49 on Sunday night. The awards show had the second-largest audience since 2009 and the second-best adult 18-49 rating since 2011.
