CBS’ ‘Bull’ To End With Sixth Season

CBS’ 2016 legal drama, Bull, is slated to conclude with its sixth season, which is currently airing, according to The Hollywood ReporterThe series drew strong viewership for the network in its early years, despite allegations of sexual harassment and of an unhealthy work environment.

In 2018, Eliza Dushku (Bring It On), who played J.P. Nunnelly, a recurring character on the show, accused the show’s star, Michael Weatherly (NCIS) of allegedly making several inappropriate comments to her during the first season. CBS paid Dushku $9.5 million to settle the sexual harassment claim, and while she previously signed on to potentially become a regular in the show’s sophomore season, her character was written off the show. More recently, in May 2021, showrunner Glenn Gordon Caron (Moonlighting) was let go from the show and dropped from a deal with CBS over an investigation stemming from accusations that he allegedly created an unhealthy work environment on Bull.

Kathryn Price (Guilt) and Nichole Millard (Guilt) took over as showrunners after Caron’s departure. Bull‘s current season is currently averaging 7.4 million viewers. The series will reportedly conclude due to Weatherly’s decision to move on from Bull.

“It’s been my privilege to play Dr. Jason Bull but after 6 seasons of incredible storylines, it’s time to pursue new creative challenges and bring his story to a close,” Weatherly tweeted via The Hollywood Reporter
