Catfish Season Two Success Stories

The show Catfish has embarked on its second season with a newer element to the mixCatfish host Nev Schulman says, “They know the things they can and should be doing to help themselves, and yet, for any number of reasons, they still need our assistance. So we have an ability now to sort of cut through the fat and really attack the issues without having to explain what we’re doing”.

Season one of Catfish, was a trial run in a way, and a very successful one at that. The shows main focus is unmasking those sitting safely behind a computer screen veil in online relationships. During season one, as many would suspect, most were in fact a rouse. However, Schulman tells us that in season two there are more success stories than not.

”I’m very excited to report that we’ve had some incredible success stories,” Schulman adds, “which I know is something people have been asking for a lot: ‘When are you going to have a show where the people are who they say they are?’ So I’m excited for people to see some of the episodes where that happens to be the case.”

The most famous “catfishing” victim so far is Notre Dame quarterback Manti Te’o. The revelation that he was being conned through the dating culture of the world wide web made headlines this past January.
