Casts of ‘Cheers’ and ‘The Sopranos’ Set to Reunite at Emmy Awards

People has reported that as part of the 75th annual Primetime Emmy Awards, the Cheers and The Sopranos casts will reunite. The awards ceremony, which will be airing live from the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, will honor more than five classic television shows during the program, including Cheers and The Sopranos.

In an interview with People, Anthony Anderson (black-ish, Barbershop, Kangaroo Jack), host of the 75th annual Emmy Awards, talked about how multiple beloved series reunions will be featured in the broadcast of the awards ceremony.

“We are paying tribute to iconic shows that have changed the scope of television and entertainment by being on the air. We’re going to be paying homage to them, having a lot of cast members come back as themselves, as these characters, and there’s going to be a little interchange between me and them on the sets of their shows,” said Anderson to People.

The actors expected to appear in The Sopranos Reunion are Lorraine Bracco(The Sopranos, Goodfellas, Rizzoli and Isles)and Michael Imperioli(The Sopranos, The Many Saints of Newark, Goodfellas).

The actors expected to appear in the Cheers reunion are Ted Danson(Cheers, The Good Place, Becker), Kelsey Grammer(Frasier, Jesus Revolution, Cheers), Rhea Perlman(Matilda, Cheers, Barbie), John Ratzenberger(Cars, Cheers, Monsters Inc.), and George Wendt(Cheers, House, Christmas with the Campbells).

Anderson also told People that his mother would be featured in the broadcast of the Awards. “I can’t host the Emmys without having Mama Doris on the stage with me, so we’re finding some smart ways to incorporate her into the show,” Anderson said.

The 75th annual emmys will be airing live from the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles on Monday at 8 p.m. ET on Fox.
