USA‘s The Sinner has a new star to the series. Carrie Coon will become the new lead for season two. She will play as Vera whom is, “a formidable, mysterious woman who struggles between upholding the ideals of the community she leads and fulfilling her own desires.” Coon has played in Fargo, The Post, Windows, and The Nest. She was also most recently in Avengers: Infinity War as Proxima Midnight (one of Thanos’ soldiers). USA also coupled this announcement by adding that the new season will come out in August.
She will be joined by Natalie Paul (The Deuce) and Hannah Gross (Mindhunters). Paul will play as Heather. She is a detective in training where Detective Harry Ambrose’s (Bill Pullman) hometown is. She is the one that calls him for help in solving the case, in which seems to have no motive. Gross will play as Marin. She is Heather’s friend from high school that mysteriously disappeared years ago.
In the second season Detective Ambrose goes back to his hometown in New York. The crime he is both unsettling and heart wrenching. An eleven year old son murdered his parents when there seems to be no motive. He realizes ordinary does not apply to both the boy and where he came from. While investigating he is pulled into the hidden darkness of his hometown. He is between people that will protect its secerets and a mysterious woman that gives him an important piece to the puzzle.
