‘Call My Agent Berlin’ Joining Disney+

According to Deadline, French comedy series Call My Agent is being adapted for a German audience. The series follows the Stern acting agency and its staff. The series features actors Benny O. Arthur (Wake Up, Informant), Janina Elkin (Silent Night, The Four of Us), Lucas Gregorowicz (Lammbock, Oderbruch), Karin Hanczewski (Tatort, Lotte), Dana Herfurth (Loce Addicts, The Universal Theory), Michael Klammer (Beer Royal, The Teachers Lounge), Gabrielle Scharnitzky (Verliebt in Berlin, More Than Friendship) and Taynara Silva-Wolf (Tatort, EneMe).  The title Call My Agent Berlin is subject to change, but filming for the show has already wrapped. 

Deadline reported that the series is being directed by Boris Kunz (Paradise, Dreams) and Laura Lackman (Luden, Too Hard to Handle). The show will be run by Johann Buchholz (Paare, Mann/Frau), who also runs the production company Friday Film.

The series follows talent agents at a fictional agency who deal with their customers and adversities in their personal lives. According to Deadline, the show has had on famous guest stars such as Jean Reno (Léon, Who Killed Sarah?), Juliette Binoche (The New Look, The Taste of Things) and Jean Dujardin (The Artist, Up for Love).  

The show was successful in France, streaming on Netflix for five seasons, and has been adapted for audiences in Spain, U.K., India, Italy, Turkey and Canada. 

As per Deadline, the screenplay for the German adapted Call My Agent was written by head writers Buchholz and Timon Karl Kaleyta (Jerks, Sexuell Verfügbar), as well as writers Jana Buchholz (Mann/Frau, ZDFzoom), Fabienne Hurst (King of Stonks, Show) and Caroline Rosales (DAS!, Sexuell Verfügbar) .  The series’s executive producer is Dr. Claudia Thieme (FunnyMovie, Doppelter Einsatz).
