New photos for the highly anticipated Spider-Man Noir series have been released, which will showcase Nicolas Cage (Ghost Rider) as the titled character. According to Screenrant, production of the series and numerous others were put on hold due to the devastating wildfires that have plagued California. The plot of the series has yet to be announced, but it will surely stay true within the comic, where the setting takes place in 1933 and Peter fights crime in a noir-style New York.
This is not the only series to be affected by the wildfires as other shows, such as Daredevil: Born Again, Severance and The Pitt, have canceled their initial release premier to a later date.
According to Screenrant, the photos reveal a more rugged and weathered look for Cage’s Noir, reflecting the character’s gritty, detective-inspired persona and another which showcases a comic-accurate Spider-Man suit. This has excited fans to witness Cage, who first voiced Spider-Man Noir in the Spiderverse films, and has now brought the character back to reality. Fans will surely expect to see notorious villains such as the Green Goblins, Black Cat and Vulture in the same noir format.
The production team has procured a safe area to continue the production of the Spider-Man Noir series. According to Screenrant, the filming began in August 2024, but the series is scheduled to make a late 2025 premiere due to the fire. The photos that have been released all focus on Cage’s character and do not give much information about the additional cast, which symbolizes that the main focus will be solely on him.
According to Screenrant, it is unknown what streaming platform the upcoming Marvel series will be landing. However, MGM+ and Amazon Studios will decide what to do with its premiere once it wraps up production. While fans await further information, all previous TV series within the Marvel franchise are available to stream on Disney+.
