Cable Television Proves Itself Worthy

Everyone, fans or not, has heard countless conversations about the cable hit series the Walking Dead, which is based off the comic book of the same name. This was the first time ever that cable television, in opposition to broadcast television, was able to produce a hit for the main demographic to metaphorically feast on, no pun intended.

The main demographic that advertisers and entertainment try to target is adults under the age of 50. Even though broadcast television holds the throne in the industry by providing our eyes with larger and broader based hits, cable still spawns equally if not more so viewed series for the overlooked demographics.

Archer, Tosh. 0, and Your Pretty Face Is Going To Hell are among the cable television shows that have done well simply because they cater to the less popular demographic of adult males under 50. The less worshiped cable series’ are claiming their spot by having a variety of shows that appeal to different people, and ultimately producing equal if not greater in some cases revenue.
