Bruce Campbell is stumping for an Emmy nomination.
According to Deadline, the cult superstar is campaigning to have the Emmys “Hail to the King” by giving him a nomination for Outstanding Lead Actor In A Comedy for his portrayal of iconic hero Ash Williams in Starz’s Ash Vs. Evil Dead.
Campbell’s campaign to “Make the Emmy’s Groovy Again” kicked off with a series of video ads appearing on social media, as well as billboards spread throughout Los Angeles with slogans like “Vote for Ash. He doesn’t suck.”

Though Campbell’s strategy is definitely unorthodox it seems to have the full support of Starz. “If there’s one thing that the 2016 campaign season has taught us, it’s that voters respond to a bold pitch,” said Starz executive vice president of communications Theano Apostolou. “You can’t really go wrong by getting out of the way and letting Bruce Campbell do what he does best… which is pitch Bruce Campbell. We think his chainsaw hand will help cut through all the noise.”
Bruce Campbell’s legendary charm and chin are well know on both the big and small screen. He is widely known as the bumbling, heroic deadite-slayer in Sam Raimi’s Evil Dead movies and on Ash vs. Evil Dead. Until Ash Vs. Evil Dead Campbell’s biggest TV project was USA’s long running show Burn Notice where he played Sam Axe. Along with Ash Vs. Evil Dead, Campbell most recently appeared on television as Ronald Reagan in season 2 of FX’s critically acclaimed Fargo series.
Campbell stars in Ash Vs. Evil Dead with Ray Santiago (Pablo), Dana DeLorenzo (Kelly), Jill Marie Jones (Amanda Fisher) and Lucy Lawless (Ruby). Season 2 of Starz’s bloody horror-comedy series is set to premiere on September 23rd.
