According to The Hollywood Reporter, the presenter announced on Friday that she will not return to the show for its 18th season, which starts in less than a month.
The host wrote an ironic tweet, mentioning she had had a “weird day” and that there had been a “shocking pre-season elimination” on Dancing With The Stars, which turned out to be herself.
Conrad Green, EP of the dancing show, confirmed later on Friday that Brooke Burke-Charvet was, indeed, out of the show. The producer didn’t spare compliments and said that “(Brooke) will unquestionably be missed by our entire team,” and thanked her for her “years of great service.”
Burke-Charvet was a performer on the show’s 7th season and had been co-hosting alongside Tom Bergeron since its 10th season, which aired in 2010.
Earlier this month, Harold Wheeler, who had been DWTS‘s band leader for years on end, was also dropped from the show for unknown reasons.
The ABC show will return to the network’s Monday night roster on March 17. The new cast will be announced on March 4.
