‘Breaking Bad’ Episode “Ozymandias” Loses Perfect IMDB Rating, Spurs Review War With ‘Knight of the Seven Kingdoms’ Fans

“Ozymandias” recently lost it’s 10 out if 10 score on IMDB and it may be the fault of Breaking Bad’s own fanbase. “Ozymandias” was the only episode of television to hold a perfect score, and did so for apporixmatlrtly thirteen years.

Recently, A Knight Of The Seven Kingdoms premiered it’s 5th episode, “In The Name Of The Mother“. The episode briefly held a 10 out of 10 score before it dropped down to a 9.6. The main reason for the drop was due to “review bombing,” a practice in which another series fan base give fake poor ratings. “In The Name Of The Mother” received numerous one of 10 scores from fans of Breaking Bad, many of whom had never even seen the show. Reviews had titles such as “Walter White Send His Regards” indicating the poor rating was purely malicious.

Breaking Bad received a taste of its own medicine. Fans of A Knight Of The Seven Kingdoms retaliated by review bombing the tour de force of the Breaking Bad series, “Ozymandias.” The episode would fall from it’s pinnacle of the small screen and drop from it’s perfect score, although the episode does still maintain a 9.9, a tie for the highest rated episode of all time.

One review of “Ozymandias” stated, “Love both BB and GOT but toxic fandom of BB review bombing 10/10 ep of AKOTSK is very low and I believe BB toxic fandom should taste their own medicine for once.” Another review was cleverly entitled “A Lannisterr Always Pays His Debts.” via Screentant.

This is not the first time that the Breaking Bad fanbase has been accused of review bombing. Some fans have accused the fan base of preventing numerous episode from possibly attaining a perfect score.

The irony of review bombing a subjective medium is not lost on many fans. Most would likely prefer to let the cards fall where they fall instead of intentionally attempting to protect a series title as “perfect” or “the best ever”. “In The Name Of The Mother” would have likely fallen from it’s perfect score either way, but the less than noble intentions of some Breaking Bad fans have now “Ozymandias” lose it’s title as well.
