‘Boy Meets World’ Actors Open Up About Working With A Child Abuser

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the hosts of the podcast Pod Meets World as well as stars on the show Boy Meets World opened up about their experiences with a child abuser while on set. The stars in question were Danielle Fishel (The Dish), Rider Strong (Cabin Fever) and Will Friedle (Thundercats). During the podcast episode, they were also joined by a therapist by the name of Kati Morton when discussing the abuser, who is named Brian Peck.

The three actors, who played Topanga Lawrence, Shawn Hunter and Eric Matthews, wanted to have a discussion about Peck due to the news recently coming to light. Peck was a guest star on season five, said The Hollywood Reporter. In 2003, Peck was accused of molesting a child and was sentenced to 16 months in prison. Peck was in a two-episode special on the show, and he became quick friends with Strong and Friedle. The two would later make statements against him.

On the podcast, Friedle came to recall his time spent with Peck, said The Hollywood Reporter. He said, “I was working a lot after Boy Meets World, and this guy had so ingrained himself into my life, I took him to three shows after Boy Meets World, this was the type of thing where the person he presented was this great, funny guy who was really good at his job, and you wanted to hang out with.”

The Hollywood Reporter also noted that Friedle expressed how he was manipulated by Peck when he was convicted, saying, “My instinct initially was, ‘My friend, this can’t be. It’s gotta be the other person’s fault.’ The story makes complete sense the way that he’s saying it.”

Friedle also made a point to redirect the story to the victim, said The Hollywood Reporter. He went on to say, “There’s an actual victim here. And he turned us against the victim to where now we’re on his team. That’s the thing where, to me, I look back at that as my ever-loving shame for this entire [thing]. Getting taken in by somebody who’s a good actor and a manipulator, I could chalk that up to being young and that’s the way it is. It’s awful.”

Along with this news comes the upcoming documentary that shares alleged abuse at Nickelodeon, which is titled Quiet on Set, said The Hollywood Reporter.
