Steve Burns, the beloved actor who played Steve on the series Blue’s Clues and who shaped many childhoods of the kids growing up in the early 2000s, is reaching out to make sure everyone is doing okay. Amidst the release of the docu-series Quiet On Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV, Deadline has reported that the actor posted a video to make sure everyone can get a quick mental health check.
The video, posted to TikTok, has Burns sitting down looking at the camera. In the classic Blue’s Clues fashion, he acknowledges the camera as if he were talking directly to the viewer and doing a quick check-in. “Hey, I’m checking in,” he starts in the video, “tell me what’s going on.” He then stayed quiet as he nodded as if he were listening to the onlooker talk about what was going on. Those who grew up watching Blue’s Clues on Nickelodeon should remember that this is the signature style of the show, as Steve regularly posed questions and stayed quiet as if to listen to the audience’s answer.
After Burns took what the audience had to say in, he nodded his head with a sympathetic smile and wrapped up the video by saying “Okay. Alright, well, it’s good to hear from you. You look great, by the way.”

Burns’ video was posted in the wake of the Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV. This docu-series has exposed some very dark revelations that center around believed actors and TV shows from Nickelodeon. Having an actor check in with those who may have watched it was impactful, to say the least. The video has now reached over 6.3M views and has gained over 40K comments praising Burns for checking in and giving people the space to talk about their reactions and feelings towards what the docu-series has uncovered.
The most shocking revelation that the series has revealed has been the well-known actor Drake Bell coming forward to say that he was allegedly sexually abused by dialogue coach Brian Peck numerous times. According to Deadline, Peck was arrested on 11 charges in 2003 on the accounts of “sodomy, lewd act upon a child 14 or 15 by a person 10 years older, and oral copulation by anesthesia or controlled substance.” The minor that he had assaulted was never publicly known until now.
Upon the release of the series, Nickelodeon did publically put out a statement in support of Bell. Now that Drake Bell has disclosed his identity as the plaintiff in the 2004 case, we are dismayed and saddened to learn of the trauma he has endured, and we commend and support the strength required to come forward.”
