Bill Cosby’s Name Removed From The TV Academy’s Online Hall of Fame

Bill Cosby has been removed from the Television Academy’s Hall of Fame list located on their website.

In 1992, the former Cosby Show star was inducted into the Academy’s Television Hall of Fame during a ceremony at Walt Disney World.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, just a week after Cosby was convicted of sexual assault by a jury in Pennsylvania, the Television Academy removed the star from its Hall of Fame list on their website. A statue of Cosby that once was inside in the Hall of Fame Plaza will not be returned back to be on display. The statue was removed during renovations.

Cosby’s bio, however, is still on the Academy’s website.

This is not the only honor that Cosby has lost since his conviction on April 26, he has had honorary degrees rescinded from Yale University and Temple University which is also Cosby’s alma mater. The actor and comedian also had Cosby Show reruns pulled from the air on the Bounce Television Network.

Cosby faces more than 50 accusations of sexual assault from women over four decades. A week ago, he was finally convicted for an accusation that happened back in 2004. Cosby was convicted with aggravated indecent assault against Andrea Costand who was the former director of operations for the women’s basketball team at Temple University.

Tom Brokaw, TV journalist and author, is still listed on the Television Academy’s website after he was accused just last week of sexual misconduct from when he was an Anchor on NBC News in the 1990s with younger co-workers. Brokaw has denied the allegations.
