Big Mouth has dropped the trailer for the latest season, and we’re taking trip with the crew to high school. In the newest trailer for the penultimate season of the Netflix animated comedy, awkward cast of middle school characters start their new beginnings as they are finally graduating and heading towards their futures. The new season is set to premiere on October 20th on Netflix for its seventh season.
The upcoming 10 episodes follow the show’s regular characters, but now will be in a different, and more mature setting. The official synopsis reads, “Season 7 follows the now teenage students of Bridgeton middle school as they make their way to high school, change is the only constant as our characters are faced with a new school, new friends, new adversaries, and new Hormone Monsters.”
Big Mouth centers around a friend group of middle schoolers, specifically seventh graders, as they clamber their way through the ins and outs of how awkward and turbulent those adolescent years can be. They go through the experiences of growing up, meet hormone monsters, and really journey towards their own self-discovery.
The series will follow the original cast of characters: Nick, voiced by co-creator Nick Kroll (Kroll Show), Andrew, voiced by John Mulaney (Saturday Night Live, Spiderman: Into The Spiderverse), Missy, voiced by Ayo Edebiri (The Bear, Bottoms) and Jay, voiced by Jason Mantzoukas (Brooklyn Nine-Nine), as they start their journey into their high school lives. In the latest trailer, we see them graduate and go their separate ways to the respected high school that they have chosen to attend. Their worlds then get flipped upside down as love lives and new hormone monsters get thrown into the mix. The season will also have some guest stars making appearances such as Megan Thee Stallion, Lupita Nyong’o (Black Panther), Zazie Beetz (Atlanta), Padma Lakshmi (Top Chef), Maitreyi Ramakrishnan (Never Have I Ever) and Billy Porter (Pose).
Big Mouth was created by Kroll and Andrew Goldberg (Human Resources). They also double as executive producers along with Mark Levin (Nim’s Island) and Jennifer Flackett (Little Manhattan). Big Mouth has already been renewed for an eighth and final season. Watch the trailer for season seven here!
