Big Brother season 15 may be the most cut-throat and offensive group of houseguests yet.
News sites are buzzing about the racist and homophobic comments that were seen on the Big Brother live feed. One conversation between contestants GinaMarie, Aaryn, and Kaitlin is particularly offensive. According to Huffington Post, the girls first attacked their Asian-American housemate, Helen. “Dude, shut up, go make some rice,” Aaryn says. Later in the conversation, GinaMarie adds, “Andy was like, ‘I’m gonna punch her in the face,’ and I was like, ‘Maybe that’ll make her eyes straight.'”
The conversation continued on to the girls’ African-American housemates Howard and Candace. One of the girls states, “Blacks stick together […] They’re like tokens […] They’re like black Barbie and Kens,” while another claims that Candace’s “blackness” is coming out. Vulture reports that GinaMarie casually uses the N-word around the house and that Spencer likes to call women “cunts”.
In their not-so-private discussion, GinaMarie, Aaryn, and Kaitlin also attacked Andy, worrying that he would win MVP that week “because everybody loves the queers.”

But all of these comments were edited out before being aired. “We really don’t want to put hateful things out there in our edits,” producer Allison Grodner said in 2010.
According to Huffington Post, former contestant Ragan Fox wrote an open letter to the Big Brother production team. The letter urged them to air the hateful comments. He claimed, “What’s the point of casting racial, ethnic, and sexual minorities if production’s going to edit out the racism, ethnic discrimination, and homophobia that these people encounter inside the house?”
Big Brother 15 airs Sundays at 8 p.m. ET, Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET and Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
