

The famous animated series, X-Men ’97 has engaged Marvel fans with a journey of nostalgia, replicating the same arts style that was used in the first series. According to Comicbook, the finale of X-Men ’97 saw the mutant heroes lost in time and split into two teams, whose missions is to stop Magneto, voiced by Matthew Waterson (Hogwarts Legacy, Devil May Cry) and Bastion, voiced by Theo James (Divergent, The Monkey) from raging war.
According to Comicbook, an alternative ending for X-Men ’97 was released by the series creator, Beau DeMayo (The Witcher, Moon Knight) via an X post, which shows that two iconic mutants were cut from production, which where the phasing Kitty Pryde aka Shadowcat and the steel skinned Colossus.

According to Comicbook, in the alternative ending of the script, Forge, voiced by Gil Birmingham (Yellowstone, Twilight), lands amidst the wreckage of the X-Men Mansion. Hearing a phasing sound, he fires in that direction and ultimately encounters Kittie, her pet dragon Lockheed, and Colossus. The scene then transitions to show the three of them joining Forge on his mission to locate the missing X-Men, who are scattered throughout time.
According to mxdwn, The upcoming season will surely feature the return of talented voice actors which includes Ray Chase (Genshin Impact, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure), Jennifer Hale (Totally Spies, Mass Effect), and Cal Dodd (Scott Pilgrim Takes Off, Ace Lightning), reprising their iconic roles.
The burning question still remains that if Shadowcat and Colosssus are still in the roster for season two. According to mxdwn, production on the future season is currently on hiatus due to a change in showrunner from DeMayo to Matthew Chauncey (Ms.Marvel, What If?…). While fans await further news on the start of season two’s production and release date, the entire first season of X-Men ’97 is available to stream on Disney+.
