According to Comicbook, Star Wars: Rogue One actor Ben Mendelsohn (Secret Invasion) has confirmed that they will not be a part of season two of Disney+’s Star Wars: Andor. Mendelsohn recently interviewed with the Italian publication Bad Taste where he expressed why he was not going to be in the second installment of the series. The publication asked him if there was more to come from the role he plays as Star Wars villain Orson Krennic.
According to Comicbook, Mendelsohn explains the role of Krennic as well as more details about how he feels about the character. While, speaking about the character he also mentions how he is ready to get back into the role although he has been contacted by Lucasfilm to return as of yet.
Mendelsohn explained, “I think Krennic has a tremendous amount of things left to give to the audience. What we need to understand about a character like Krennic is that, if he had had the chance, he would have tried to take over the entire game and it seems to me that this aspect has not yet been explored sufficiently.”
Mendelsohn continued, “As for being contacted by Lucasfilm for a new project, I can tell you that no, I have not been approached for something like this. And yes, it would be great to see him again somewhere, but for now everything stops here. But as far as I’m concerned, I would be very willing to explore it further and significantly in that world. I never expected to play a character like that, but then again I never expected to become an actor either. For me they are all wonderful things.”
The character of Orson Krennic has been seen in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, and Star Wars: The Bad Batch. Both Star Wars titles well as Star Wars: Andor are available to stream on Disney+.
