‘Arrow’ Star Stephen Amell Calls Out DC For Mixed Messages About Arrowverse

According to ScreenRant, Arrow star Stephen Amell (Heels) recently called out DC for giving mixed messages about the Arrowverse when it comes to DC moving forward with the DCU. DC Studios plans to move forward in a new creative direction studio with co-leads James Gunn (Guardians of the Galaxy) and Peter Safran (Aquaman) having stated their plans for the future of the DCU. Although the future of DC is currently underway, it also means the end of The CW’s Arrowverse alongside many other series that were canceled.

According to ScreenRant, the Arrowverse recently ended with the final season of The Flash and the star that got the franchise started is not thrilled with DC. During stream on Whatnot, Amell who played the Green Arrow since 2012 stated the mixed messages that DC Studios has put out following the ending of the Arrowverse.

While wishing nothing but the best for DC and its future Amell said, ”I don’t know, man. I don’t know. Those guys… the DCEU, they need to decide if they think that they’re better than television or if they want to participate. Because I get mixed messages, which to me just signals that, I don’t know. You guys do your own thing. We did our thing … first of all, I wish everyone nothing but the best. I want nothing more than amazing movies, but right now, they need us a lot more than we need them.”

The Arrowverse was formed based on eight different television series which included Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, Black Lightning, Batwoman, Vixen, and Freedom Fighters. All series are connected by a variety of cross-over episodes through different seasons. The Arrowverse started back in 2012 with Arrow and recently concluded with the release of The Flash’s final episode which aired on May 24th.
