Arrow’s list of villains is getting longer. Based on reports from San Diego Comic-Con, the series’ second season will focus on DC Comics’ Suicide Squad, a group of incarcerated villains who perform high-risk tasks for the government in exchange for reduced sentences.
Among those members are returning characters China White (Kelly Hu) and Deadshot (Michael Rowe), as well as new cast additions Sebastian Blood (Kevin Alejandro) and Ben Turner, aka the Bronze Tiger (Michael Jai White). They join the previously announced Summer Glau, who will recur as Isabel Rochev, yet another adversary for Oliver Queen to face.
Glau’s character can be glimpsed in the newly released trailer for season two, which features a first look at the action and romance in store for the second year of the popular CW series. “You want to know what people say about you?” she asks Oliver, who responds, “Most people fail to see the real me.”
In that same vein, Oliver comments near the end of the trailer that he no longer wants to be called “the Hood.” “So what do you want to be called?” his bodyguard and confidant, John Diggle, inquires—as Oliver looks intently at the green arrow in his hand.
The season premiere, titled “City of Heroes”, is slated to air October 9 on the CW.
