Superhero sensation Arrow announced a spin-off featuring the Canaries, and it’s already underway for film production. After having finishing up with Arrow’s final season just last week, details of the new show’s premise has been revealed, and it’ll mostly continue off where Arrow ends. The finale will leave us with an epic crossover at the end of its run, the longest one on CW ever attempted, and have all superheroes from the 6 CW shows team up to save the multiverse. The event will put on the finishing touches for Arrow while the spin-off will start anew.
Green Arrow and the Canaries will pass the mantle on to Oliver’s daughter, Mia Smoak, as she dons the mask of “Green Arrow,” herself. Katherine McNamura, playing as Mia, shared some of the excitement she has onset with fans as she discusses some additions to its casting. She says it best herself in this video message: “It’s really exciting. I don’t know what’s in store, but whatever it is, it’s gonna be pretty badass… So I cannot wait to share it with all of you… and here we go.”

What we know for certain is that Earth-2’s Black Siren (Katie Cassidy Rogers) and Black Canary (Juliana Harkavy) will play major roles in the new show’s timeline. The pilot takes place in a future version of star city, and will have its spot reserved as Arrow’s eighth episode of its final season, which began airing last week.
All in all, Arrow’s lasting influence will continue to hold its weight as the producers transition into a whole new spin-off. The magic isn’t over for the superhero sensation, and the end of its greatness will leave fans hoping for more similarities in the new rendition.
