Season two of Apple TV+’s romance drama The Buccaneers revealed its trailer before its June premiere date. The second season welcomes Leighton Meester (The Roommate) to the cast in this sweeping period piece. View the trailer below.

The sounds of Chappell Roan’s (“Hot to Go!) “Good Luck, Babe!” illuminate the trailer as we return to London to follow the next phase of our young American women’s lives amidst sisterhood, romance, and soapy drama. Picking up from the end of season one, we’re reunited with Nan, now the Duchess of Tintagel. Appearances may not be what they seem as love for another may still linger. Elsewhere, Conchita is a heroine to young women as Lady Brightlingsea. And Jinny is a wanted woman for the kidnapping of her unborn child.

Gossip Girl’s Meester appears near the end of the trailer in an unknown but surely important role this season. She joins returning stars Kristine Frøseth (Apostle, Desert Road), Alisha Boe (Do Revenge, 12 Reasons Why), Aubri Ibrag (Dive Club), Josie Totah (Saved by the Bell, Champions), Imogen Waterhouse (Nocturnal Animals, Braid), Mia Threapleton (A Little Chaos, The Phoenician Scheme), and Christina Hendricks (Mad Men, Good Girls).

Additional cast members include Guy Remmers (Lessons), Matthew Broome (My Fault: London, Your Fault: London), Josh Dylan (Noughts + Crosses, Allied), Barney Fishwick (Living, Showtrial), Amelia Bullmore (Scott & Bailey, This Life), and Fenella Wooglar (Call the Midwife, Victoria & Abdul). New faces include Marira Almedia (The Strays, Pretty Red Dress), Greg Wise (Johnny English, Sense and Sensibility), Jacob Ifan (Bang Rogue Heroes), and Grace Ambrose (Here Now, Amen).

Written by Katherine Jakeways (The Armstrong and Miller Show, The Fist Men in the Moon), the second season is directed by BAFTA Award winner William McGregor (His Dark Materials, Gwen), John Hardwick (Follow the Money, Mule), Charlie Manton (Everything Now, Novembers 1st), and DGA Award winner Rachel Leiterman (Earth Abides, Traffic). Produced by Apple TV+ via The Forge Entertainment, the series is executive-produced by Jakeways, BATFA winner Susanna White (Generation Kill, Nanny McPhee Returns), and Emmy winner Beth Willis (Help, Just Act Normal).

Season two continues the tradition of featuring an all-female artists’ soundtrack. Executive music producer Stella Mozgawa (The Turning, The Peanut Butter Falcon) returns to steer the soundtrack that will feature Kacy Jill (Bloo, Like a Woman), Jade Bird (Different Kinds of Light, “Lottery”), Emily Kokal of Warpaint (Heads Up, The Fool), Holly Humberstone (Paint My Bedroom Black, “Haunted House”), Suki Waterhouse (“Good Looking”, I Can’t Let Go), Madi Diaz (Ten Gun Salute, “Stay Together”) and more.

The show’s other musical highlights feature songs from Lady Gaga (Mayhem, The Fame), Taylor Swift (Red, 1989), Gracie Abrams (“I Miss You, I’m Sorry”, The Secret of Us), Sabrina Carpenter (“Espresso, “Please, Please, Please”), St. Vincent (Masseduction, All Born Screaming), Bleachers (“I Wanna Get Better,” Bleachers), The Last Dinner Party (“Nothing Matters”, “Sinner”), Sharon Van Etten (Tramp, Remind Me Tomorrow), and Clairo (Immunity, Charm).

The eight-episode second season premieres on Wednesday, June 18. Stream all of season one on Apple TV+.
