Apple TV+ Reveals Season Two Premiere Date For M. Night Shyamalan’s ‘Servant’

Apple TV+ revealed the season two premiere date for the second season of their suspense drama, Servant via Deadline. Executive produced by M. Night Shyamalan (The Sixth Sense, Split), the season will premiere Friday, January 15, 2021. Episodes will be released weekly after the premiere. The Apple original series centers on a husband and wife’s descent into despair when they hire a nanny to watch over their newborn. The series stars Lauren Ambrose (Six Feet Under, Dig) and Toby Kebbell (Kong: Skull Island, Fantastic Four) as Dorothy and Sean Turner, a couple coping with the loss of a child. Nell Tiger Free (Too Old to Die Young, Mr. Stink) is the peculiar nanny, Leanne, the Turners hire to watch over their new child, which is actually a reborn doll. The series also stars Rupert Grint (Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, Snatch).

According to Deadline, season two will pick up immediately after the events of the season finale. Leanne returns to the Turners’ home with a sinister agenda. This turn of events projects an impending doom for the other characters as the season will take on a more supernatural narrative.

Renewed ahead of its season one premiereServant was written and created by Tony Basgallop (What Remains, Hotel Babylon) with Apple TV+ handling the production, according to Deadline. In addition to Shyamalan, executive producers include Ashwin Rajan (The Visit, Glass), Jason Blumenthal (The Equalizer, The Upside), Todd Black (Fences, Antwon Fisher), and Steve Tisch (Forrest Gump, The Pursuit of Happyness). Co-executive producers are Taylor Latham (LOL, Freeheld) and Patrick Markey (Joy Ride, Ozark).

The new streaming service has maintained a constant reel of moderately-acclaimed series and films since its launch in 2019. The platform was blessed with a bounty of Emmy nominations this year for the news drama, The Morning Show with Billy Crudup winning Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series.
